When they arrived, Leonardo found his nephew Giacomo, his sister's son, waiting for him. Giacomo took his uncle to his house, and during the trip from the airport to his home, he tried to communicate with him, but Leonardo was too busy trying to establish contact with all the things that he had around him. Everything was too mechanical, too cold, too artificial; and all those things fought against the natural contact he had established with all that he had had around him during the last 30 years. When they arrived home, Giacomo showed his uncle to his room, and when Leonardo saw a bed after all that he had been through he had a well deserved rest. The day after, when he woke up, he found Giacomo with his wife at the table, having breakfast. He asked for an apple, but Giacomo said that apples were very difflcult to find, because these days one had to order them, as with all tvpes of fruits and vegetables. Afier having eaten something that tasted terrible, he heard the voice of a child, and saw Giacomo's 5 year old son for the first time. He was working with a computer, drawing an image of two men (of which one with a bag), a woman and a child. "this is you!" He said, but Leonard was so shocked by the fact that a child would paint on a computer instead of on a piece of paper to notice the happiness of the child. While he was thinking about this, Giacomo said that, that weekend, they would go to visit Mara, who was living on an island where she had created a communitv of people who lived immersed in nature. At that point he made the decision that be would stay with his sister. It was the only thing he could do as in this new world there was no place for one who didn't know how to adapt to change..
