EUROPE IN THE FUTURE
With special regards to modern technology

Scene 1
Newsreader: "Good evening and welcome to the late AAG News. This is Amanda Leigh speaking (person passes by in front of the camera with a board with the date on it). We have a special theme tonight about the EU and its development. We shall deal with the following subjects: Cancer, cloning and its development during the last few years, surveillance of our society, the election in the EU about the common policy and finally the improvement of genetic engineering in general".

Scene 2
Newsreader: "Our first topic is the problem about cancer. Today we have invited the French world wide famous cancer scientist Jean-Paul Dubois. After 10 years with hard work and research he has created some medicine that cures cancer - a huge step for Europe and mankind in general.
First of all congratulations with the results of your research. In which way is it going to affect Europe, Jean-Paul?"
Jean-Paul: "Well, it will definitely increase the European economy because more people will come to Europe for treatment and for curiosity for the results".
Newsreader: "Are there any side effects? If so, which?"
Jean-Paul: "Actually there aren't any specific side affects, but it is necessary to take medicine regularly for the rest of your life, otherwise the treatment will not show any results".
Newsreader: "Thanks for your participation and good luck with all of it".

Scene 3
Newsreader: "Now we will continue with the discussion about a homogeneous EU.
As you probably already know the biggest election in the history of the EU will take place in two months. Many people still doubt what to vote in the election of the common policy in the EU. Lately a lot of advantages and drawbacks have been discussed. For instance the taxes will be reduced, the borders between the countries will be open and that will result in a bigger trade across the countries.
Some drawbacks could be that foreigners will be cut off from hospitals and other social treatment".

Scene 4
Newsreader: "The next headline is cloning. Cloning is already a big part of our society. The fashion of today is to clone a human with sperm from Nobel Prize winners and other intelligent/famous humans. In this way parents can have the "perfect" child according to them. Though it is to be mentioned that a great deal of people are very sceptical of all this. They find it ethically wrong!"

Scene 5
Newsreader:" Surveillance in the society has made a big impression on the world; we are watched in our personal life, the children in the schools, bedrooms, the bathrooms and so on. Cameras control us, and many people find it wrong, but luckily there is one good thing about it. Every day we see less violence all over the world, something that is very good. The cameras can watch your exact move every day and if something is wrong, the security service will be there in seconds. Still we ask ourselves everyday: how did we come so far that we are watched by other people, we can't even pick our nose in private what has happened to us??

Newsreader:" That was all from now, I'm Amanda Leigh and I will be back tomorrow. Until then: good night.
